We’re the Footlighters of Elk County!
We are one of the oldest community theaters in Pennsylvania, proudly celebrating 70 years in 2026. We warmly invite you to come enjoy one of our upcoming shows and share in the joy of live theater.
We’re proud to host our productions on the second floor of the St. Marys Moose Lodge, located at 30 Erie St., St. Marys, PA.
Our Mission
The purpose of the organization shall be the learning and teaching of Theatre Arts through the presentation of dramatic works and the educational and cultural improvement of the community by making available amateur live theatre.
For seventy years, The Footlighters of Elk County have been entertaining audiences with a variety of comedies, dramas, and major Broadway musicals. Originally founded by a group of Ridgway theater buffs in 1956, the group quickly expanded to residents from throughout the Elk County area.
One of our very first productions, The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker, was featured in an issue of Life magazine in an article titled Footlight Fever Sweeps the Nation and the name, The Footlighters of Elk County, was born.
Our Purpose
